WHERE DOES YOUR POPPY MONEY GO?

February 14, 2019, Some may be asking what type of concrete activities are carried out to help our Veterans.
One regular recipient of Branch 014 Poppy Funds is the Adaptive Sports Foundation, based in Knowlton, Quebec.

Founded by Peter Treacy after he became disabled, its mission is to offer individuals with physical disabilities a chance to discover new abilities through winter and summer sports.

After Peter retired from actively running the program, it is now led by former Montreal Alouette Steve Charbonneau, aided by Yan Martin, Kelly Bush and a host of volunteers.

Besides its regular programs, the Foundation runs winter and summer camps for wounded Veterans.
From 10 – 14 February, a winter ski camp was held at Mont Bromont. 40 veterans took part in the camp either as a participant, ski buddy or volunteer.
