Every year, on August 9, we pay tribute to all Canadian peacekeepers who have taken part or are still taking part in peacekeeping operations in many countries around the world. They include military, police and civilian personnel, and we owe them a debt of gratitude for the many services they render to communities ravaged by conflicts of all kinds. To remember them, our comrades gather every Friday evening at Legion Branch 265 to share a meal, chat, tell their anecdotes and give a special salute to retired veteran members who served as peacekeepers during their active service.
