Comrade Harnold Savard presented a certificate of Life Membership in The Royal Canadian Legion to Comrade André Lavallée for his dedication in all the positions he has held with Branch 265 of The Royal Canadian Legion for over ten years. The quality of André’s commitment and dedication were particularly evident during the lockdown, in the midst of the pandemic, a dark period that hit our Branch particularly hard. André’s efforts to provide a take-away meal service enabled the Branch to continue to raise funds and maintain its activities. The commendable initiative also preserved the existing premises. An experienced military man, André handled all the logistics of the operation, including transporting and supplying the troops. The idea helped to forge even stronger links between the Branch’s comrades. To receive such an honor, the highest distinction a Legion member can achieve, is an accomplishment not often seen. Branch members learned at the same meeting that their comrade Tony Gagnon, the local supply manager, was named “Legionnaire of the Year” for the quality of his commitment.
