
The President of The Royal Canadian Legion, Trois-Rivières Branch 204, Comrade Yves Boucher, saw fit to set up, just before the summer break, a workshop concerning the duties and responsibilities of the members making up the 2024 Poppy Campaign Organizing Committee. Indeed, on Friday, June 14, 2024, just before its weekly summer BBQ, a total of 16 Branch members took part in this workshop, the aim of which was to review all the administrative and financial policies of The Royal Canadian Legion’s manuals and publications. Comrade Robert Trépanier, Provincial Chairman of the Leadership Committee, took the opportunity to test and verify the components of “Module # 4 – The Poppy Campaign”, which comprises 2 40-minute periods. The 2024 Poppy Campaign of Branch 204 will be under the responsibility of comrade Michel Langevin. The workshop included the following topics:
- Governance and responsibilities,
- The role and obligations of the Poppy Trust Account,
- Central cash desk,
- The Poppy Campaign and sub-committee responsibilities,
- Permitted and prohibited uses of the Poppy Trust Fund,
- The various reports,
- The role of the welfare officer and charitable assistance, and
- Finally, the Poppy trademark and its protocol.
