Richmond Legion honours fallen vets
July 11, 2021

Last week a group of volunteers placed hundreds of small Canadian flags at the graves of local veterans in cemeteries around the Richmond area.
The time-consuming project involved getting the names of the vets from all the wars from Legion headquarters, which included the names as well as the towns they were from in the Richmond region.
Project coordinator and Richmond Legion President Siemy Stelwagen and volunteers then spent several weeks matching up the names with the respective tombstones in local cemeteries.

Richmond, Branch 015 installed an Atlas stair lift to accommodate seniors and handicapped members.
In the photo Branch member Shirley Smith gets the first ride as Jozak Atlas representative Mike Bean shows her how the lift works.
The Richmond Branch paid for the stair lift with proceeds raised from their Green Sale.
The new front stairs lift will make it easier for physically challenged members, seniors and guests to access the 2nd floor hall.
